I’m absolutely thrilled to announce the publication of A Treasury of Ballet Stories, gloriously illustrated by the incredible Briony May Smith.
This heavily-illustrated edition includes four beautifully traditional stories written especially for young readers. Perfect for reading together or for independent readers aged six plus, Briony and I have worked incredibly hard to keep a very traditional feel while updating the language and illustrations to ensure the stories are inclusive and accessible to everyone.
The book includes four stories: Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Firebird and The Nutcracker, each told with younger, contemporary readers in mind.
When creating the stories, I watched many different versions of each ballet online, read up on the many version of each story and went back to the original tales - it’s surprising how many different versions there are!
