Virtual School Visits

Virtual visits are a fantastic, interactive way for children to meet the author, experience their favourite books, develop creative thinking skills and ask questions.

Virtual visits are available to all schools within the UK and overseas.

BOOKINGS ARE CLOSED FOR THE TIME BEING. SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE

What your virtual visit includes

  • 60 minute Assembly or Classroom session

  • Printable activity packs to accompany your sessions

  • Opportunity to purchase personally-signed books

Virtual assembly

45 minutes for up to 300 children

  • Introductions and how I became an author

  • Our aspirations and how reading can help us

  • Story of your choice, with lots of joining in

  • Introduction to creative group activity that teachers can complete in classrooms

Virtual class visit

45 minute session for up to 4 classes, which will include some or all of the following, depending on the group and books chosen:

  • Storytime

  • Themed song

  • Meet the characters

  • Learn a fun new story-writing technique and create group story outline

  • Q&A

  • Printable resources for follow-up & extension activities

Signed books

Parents and teachers can pre-order personally signed books to be presented to the children on the day. You will receive a link to my Schools Bookshop once you have booked your visit.

Teaching Resources

As part of your visit you will receive activity packs to download and print, which accompany your chosen sessions.

These will be used in the classrooms as teacher-led follow up.

 

Fees

Virtual visits are £175 and run from 10.00-11.00 am or 1.30-2.00 pm GMT. Additional sessions are charged at £100 each.

Schools outside the U.K. please contact me to discuss timings.

I will provide a suggested schedule, which can be tailored to your needs.

Technical Requirements

  • You will need access to a computer or tablet with an internet connection. Children can also join from home.

  • Sessions can be run using Zoom, Teams, Facetime or Skype and can include children learning from home.

  • A projector or large TV is recommended to give all the children a good view.

  • Having your school cameras on gives a better experience, but is optional.
