Emily Hamilton
Emily is a picture book maker who lives with her young family in Devon. She works from her miniature studio at home and likes fine black pens, ocean dips, green tea and exploring the globe.
She studied English at The University of St Andrews and is a self-taught illustrator, falling into the world of illustration in 2008 when, travelling in Australia, she stumbled across a job illustrating history books.
Emily spent her childhood in Yorkshire and Kenya, which may account for her unwavering love of wildlife, fresh air and Yorkshire puddings. Nowadays she loves to transport herself into the world of children’s books, which is lucky as she has far too many notepads and colour pencils. You'll find Emily’s work in picture books, on canvases and sometimes, the occasional surfboard.
